How to Assign a Delegate

One of the most meaningful things you can do in Paige is choose someone you trust to help carry out your wishes. That person is your delegate and assigning them takes just a minute.

This article walks you through how to assign a delegate, whether you're adding someone brand new or updating an existing contact.

Assigning a Delegate

There are two ways to assign a delegate in Paige, depending on whether you're adding a new contact or working with someone already in your address book.

Option 1: Assign a New Contact as a Delegate

If you haven't added this person to Paige yet, you can assign them as a delegate right from the start.

  1. Navigate to Contacts in the top menu bar, or go directly to app.go-paige.com/contacts.
  2. The Add a New Contact form is always visible at the top of the page. Fill in their First Name, Last Name, and Email address.
  3. Check the Delegate checkbox before saving.
  4. Click Save.

Once saved, your contact will appear in the Address Book with a Pending status badge. This means Paige has sent them an invitation to accept the delegate role, you're all set on your end.

Option 2: Assign an Existing Contact as a Delegate

Already have someone in your contacts? You can upgrade them to delegate status directly from the address book.

  1. Navigate to Contacts at app.go-paige.com/contacts.
  2. Find the person in your Address Book. You can use the search bar at the top of the table to find them quickly.
  3. In the Action column next to their name, click Set as delegate.
  4. Their status badge will update from Contact to Pending.

What Happens Next

After you assign someone as a delegate, here's what to expect:

The person you designated will receive an email invitation from Paige asking them to accept the delegate role. Until they accept, their status in your address book will show as Pending. You don't need to take any further action, just let them know to look out for the email.

Once they accept, their status will update to reflect their new role, and they'll be ready to access the information you've shared with them at the time of your passing.

The invitation goes to the email address you entered for that contact. Double-check that the email is correct before saving — if it's wrong, they may not receive the invitation.

Common Questions

"How many delegates can I assign?"

There's no hard limit, and a best practice is to assign at least two. That way, if one delegate is unavailable or unreachable, another trusted person can still step in.

"What can my delegate actually see?"

Before your passing, delegates have read-only access to the information you've specifically shared with them. They can't edit anything, and they only see what you've chosen to make visible. They can also trigger scheduled messages and memories you've set up for them to deliver. After your passing is confirmed, they will have access to everything you uploaded to your Paige plan.

"What if my delegate doesn't receive the invitation email?"

Ask them to check their spam or junk folder first. If the email still isn't there, it's worth confirming the email address you entered is correct. You can review or update a contact's details by clicking the pencil icon next to their name in the Address Book.

"Can I remove or change a delegate later?"

Yes. You can update delegate assignments at any time from the Contacts page. If your circumstances change, it's a good idea to revisit your delegate list periodically to make sure it still reflects your wishes. If you remove a Delegate, they will get an email telling them they have been removed.
