How to Add Documents to Your Paige Account

Uploading documents to Paige is one of the most useful steps in your planning process. Paige’s thoughtful prompts will walk you through the documents your loved ones may need, but not all will be relevant to your specific circumstances. Just add what makes sense and work through it a few files at a time.

Not sure where to start? Paige offers a guided setup called Essential Setup that can walk you through the most important document types, step by step. You'll find it right on your Documents page.

Getting to Your Documents Page

  1. Sign in to your Paige account at app.go-paige.com.
  2. In the main navigation, click Documents.
  3. You'll land on your Documents home — a secure space to upload, organize, and share important files and info.

Two Ways to Add Documents

We recommend you add your documents in two phases.

First: Use the Essential Setup Wizard (Recommended for New Users)

If you're just getting started, the Essential Setup wizard can be a helpful place to create a foundation. It walks you through six documents your loved ones may need first if you pass or are in a medical emergency.

  1. On your Documents page, click Get Started.
  2. The wizard will open with a sidebar showing your progress — you'll see something like "1 of 6 complete."
  3. Work through each step at your own pace. Each one focuses on a different document type, such as your will, life insurance policy, or medical information.
  4. At any point, you can click Skip for Now to move on and come back later — nothing is locked or lost.
  5. When you're done (or ready to pause), click Save & Exit. Your progress is saved automatically.

A green confirmation banner will appear when your progress has been saved: "Saved — Your changes have been saved successfully."

Next: Upload Directly by Category

Once you’ve uploaded the essentials, move onto the overall Documents tool, where you’ll see everything organized into categories. You can add to these sections a little at a time. There is no need to upload every document included here. Add what applies to your life, skip what doesn’t.

  1. On your Documents page, make sure you're on the By Category tab (it's selected by default).
  2. Browse the nine document categories listed below.
  3. Click into any category to expand it and see a checklist of suggested documents.
  4. Next to any document on the list, click the upload icon (↑) to add a file.
  5. From the upload window, either drag and drop your file or click Choose Files to browse your device.
  6. At this point you can choose to share the document with contacts you have added or can add in this step.
  7. Once uploaded, a checkmark will appear next to that document name.

The Nine Document Categories

Paige organizes your documents into the following categories. You don't need to fill every one — upload what applies to your situation, and revisit as things change.

Category

Examples of What to Upload

The Finance & Tax category includes a special integration: once you complete your will using Paige's Will Builder, the finished document is automatically saved there under Last Will and Testament — no manual upload needed.

Viewing Your Uploaded Documents

Once you've added files, you have a couple of ways to review them.

  • By Category — the default view, organized by document type with a checklist and progress tracker for each category.
  • All Files — a full list of every document you've uploaded across all categories.
  • Shared with Me — documents that have been shared with you by someone else on Paige.

Switch between these views using the tabs at the top of your Documents page.

Sharing a Document with Someone

After a document is uploaded, you'll notice a share icon (↗) appears next to it. You can use this to share specific documents with your delegate or other trusted contacts either right away or to be made available at a later time.

Sharing permissions are something to think through carefully. A best practice is to only share sensitive documents with trusted people that you’ve already given a heads up about their role.

Tips for a Smooth Upload

  • Most common file formats work — PDFs, JPEGs, and PNGs are all supported. If you're unsure whether a file type will work, a best practice is to save it as a PDF before uploading.
  • You can upload multiple files at once — especially useful for categories like life insurance, where you may have more than one policy.
  • Scanned documents and photos are fine — if you have a paper document and can take a clear photo of it with your phone, that works too.
  • Make it a habit — this is not a one and done job. Do a few documents at a time and come back later to add some more. When you add a new account or experience a change in your circumstances, be sure to update your documents to reflect this.

If you started the Essential Setup wizard before and didn't finish, a progress banner will appear at the top of your Documents page with a link to Continue Setup →. It keeps track of exactly where you left off.

Common Questions

"What types of documents should I upload first?"

A good place to start can be the documents that would be hardest for your loved ones to locate on their own, things like your will, life insurance policy, and a photo ID. The Essential Setup tool is designed with this in mind and guides you through those documents first.

"What if I don't have a will yet?"

No problem at all. The will upload gives you the option to note that you haven't created one yet and will point you toward Paige's Will Builder at the end of setup. You can upload your will once it's complete.
"How to create a will in Paige"

"Can I delete or replace a document I've already uploaded?"

Yes. Each uploaded document includes options to manage it, including the ability to update or remove it. A best practice is to keep your documents current, especially if your life circumstances change (a new insurance policy, an updated will, etc.).

"Is my information secure?"

Paige uses bank-level encryption to protect everything you store. Your documents are private by default and only accessible to the people you explicitly choose to share them with.
