What Are Memories?
Memories in Paige are your space to capture the moments that make up your life — big and small, funny and tender — in your own words, on your own time, and pass them forward to the people you love.
Think of it less like filling out a form and more like sitting down with someone and telling them the story of your life. Paige gives you the structure to do it, and the confidence to know it will reach the right people when you want it to.
What Is the Memory Timeline?
When you navigate to the Memories section of your Paige account, the first thing you'll see is your Memory Timeline — a running, chronological collection of every memory you've recorded.
Each entry appears as a card on your timeline, organized by year, and the date the memory took place (not the date you wrote it). Over time, your timeline can become something meaningful in itself: a personal history, told by you, in your own voice.
Your timeline is private by default. Memories are only shared with people when you explicitly choose to share them and you control exactly when that sharing happens.
What Kinds of Memories Can You Record?
When you create a memory, you'll be asked to choose a memory type. This helps you give each entry the right context, and it also powers the Guided Prompts feature (more on that below). There are 18 categories to choose from, including:
- Friends & Neighbors
- Weddings & Anniversaries
- Love & Partnership
- Travel & Adventures
- Kids & Parenting
- Passions, Hobbies & Creativity
- Career & Work Life
- Life Lessons & Thoughts of Gratitude
- Growing Up & Family Life
- Challenges, Resilience & New Beginnings
- Life Milestones
- Family Legacy & History
- Holidays, Traditions & Ceremonies
- Faith & Philosophies
- School & Education
- Retirement
- How I'd Like to Be Remembered
- Other Memories and Thoughts
Not sure which category fits? A good approach is to choose the one that feels closest, then write freely. You can always use "Other Memories and Thoughts" if nothing quite fits the moment you're capturing.
How the Create Memory Form Works
When you're ready to record a memory, click + Create a memory from your timeline. Here's what you'll fill out:
- Name your memory — Give it a title that will help you (and your loved ones) recognize it at a glance.
- What type of memory are you creating? — Choose from the 18 categories above.
- When did this memory take place? — Use the date picker to set the date. This is what places the memory on your timeline chronologically.
- Note/Message — Write your memory here. This is the heart of the entry — your words, your story.
- Add a photo or video (optional) — Drag and drop a file or click Browse Files to attach media to your memory.
Getting Started with Guided Prompts
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to begin. That's what Guided Prompts are for.
When you select a memory type, Paige will surface a set of prompts tailored to that category. For example, if you choose Friends & Neighbors, you might see:
- A neighbor who made life better
- An inside joke or tradition we shared
- A friend who's been there through it all
- How we met and became close
Each prompt has two options: click Add + to pull the prompt into your notes as a starting point, or click Skip × to move past it. You can use as many or as few as you'd like, they're there to help, not to box you in.
Stuck on what to write even with prompts? Paige's blog has more inspiration and examples to help you get going. You'll find a link to it at the bottom of the Memories page.
Sharing Your Memories
Recording a memory is just the beginning. When you're ready, you can choose to share it — with one person, a few people, or anyone in your life you want to receive it.
Paige gives you full control over who receives a memory and when they receive it. When you click Select contacts and schedule, you'll see a sharing panel with two choices to make:
Choose your contacts — Select from the people in your Contacts list.
Choose your send timing — There are four options:
|
Timing Option |
What It Means |
|
Immediately |
The memory is sent to your selected contacts right away. |
|
Later |
You set a specific future date for delivery. |
|
Delegates can trigger |
Your designated Delegate decides when to send it. |
|
After-death / in case of emergency |
Delivered only upon death or an emergency trigger. |
Memories sent Immediately are delivered to your contacts right away — there's no recall or undo once they go out. If you're not sure you're ready to share, consider using Later or Delegates can trigger so you have more control over timing.
You don't have to share a memory when you create it. Memories can be saved privately and shared later — or kept entirely for yourself. Think of your timeline as a space you can build at your own pace.
What Are Delegates, and Why Do They Matter for Memories?
A Delegate is a trusted person you've designated in Paige to help carry out your wishes. When it comes to Memories, delegates play a special role: they can be given the responsibility of deciding when a memory gets delivered to its recipient.
This can be especially meaningful for memories that are meant to reach someone after you're gone, like a letter to a grandchild for their graduation, a note to a spouse, or a family story you want passed down at the right moment.

Viewing Memories Shared With You
Your Memory Timeline shows the memories you've created. But you may also view memories that have been shared with you by someone else who uses Paige.
To view those, click the View Shared Memories button on the Memories page. This is where you'll find anything a contact has chosen to send your way.
How Memories and Messages Work Together
Memories and Messages are two distinct features in Paige, but they can feel closely related — and they share the same sharing and scheduling tools.
Here's a simple way to think about the difference:
|
Memories |
Messages |
|
Stories, moments, and history from your life |
Notes, advice, wishes, and personal words |
|
Organized chronologically on a timeline |
Categorized by message type (e.g., Advice, Apologies, Celebrations) |
|
Date-anchored to when the event happened |
Focused on what you want to say, not when it occurred |
|
Photo/video attachments supported |

Both features are included in your Paige Membership and can be found in the Messages & Memories section of your dashboard.

Common Questions
"Can I edit or delete a memory after saving it?"
Yes — you can return to any memory in your timeline to update it. If a memory has already been shared and delivered, editing your saved version won't change what the recipient received. A best practice is to review your memory before scheduling it for delivery.
"Do I have to share a memory right away?"
Not at all. You can create a memory, save it to your timeline, and leave it completely private. Sharing is always your choice, and you can revisit the decision anytime.
"Can I attach photos or videos to a memory?"
Yes. The Create Memory form includes a media upload area where you can drag and drop a photo or video, or browse your files to attach one. This can bring a memory to life in a way that words alone sometimes can't.
"What happens to my memories if I cancel my membership?"
A best practice is to export or download anything important before making changes to your account.
"What if I don't know what to write?"
That's exactly what the Guided Prompts are for. When you select a memory type, Paige will offer tailored prompts to help you get started. You can also find inspiration on the Paige blog — there's a link to it right on the Memories page.
"I don't like writing. How else can I record my memories?"
You don't have to write a word. Paige lets you upload a video or leave a voice note. Just speak from the heart, some of the best stories are the ones told out loud.
Ready to start your timeline? Head to Memories in your top navigation and click + Create a memory. Your stories are worth saving — and the people in your life will be glad you did.
