What Is a Delegate, Again?

A delegate can be thought of as one of your most trusted people — someone you've chosen to help settle your affairs and access the information you've shared with them. Paige recommends assigning at least two delegates, and it's always a good idea to let them know they've been chosen.

Delegates live in your Contacts list. Editing a delegate's information works the same way as editing any contact so there's nothing special you need to do differently just because they hold a delegate role.

How to Edit a Delegate

  1. From your dashboard, navigate to Contacts in the top menu bar. You can also go directly to app.go-paige.com/contacts.

  2. In the Address Book below the contact form, locate the delegate whose information you'd like to update. You can use the search bar at the top of the table to find them quickly by name or email.

  3. Once you've found them, click the pencil icon (✏️) on the right side of their row to open their contact detail page.

  4. On the contact detail page, click the pencil icon next to their name at the top of the Contact card to enter edit mode.

  5. Update any of the following fields as needed:
    • First name and last name
    • Email address
    • Date of birth
    • Gender
    • Number of children
    • Address
  6. When you're done making changes, click Save to apply your updates.

You'll see a green confirmation banner — "Saved — Your changes have been saved successfully." — letting you know everything went through.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

If you update a delegate's email address, keep in mind that this is the address Paige uses to communicate with them, including any future delegate invitation or notification. A best practice is to double-check the new email address before saving to avoid any delivery issues.

Editing a delegate's contact information does not affect their delegate status. If their status was Pending or already accepted, that remains unchanged after you save edits.

Can't Find Your Delegate?

If you're having trouble locating someone in your Address Book, here are a few things to check:

  • Try searching by their email address instead of their name. This can be helpful if you're unsure how their name was entered.
  • Make sure you're looking at the correct page of results. The Address Book is paginated, so use the Previous and Next controls to browse if you have a longer contact list.
  • If the contact was recently added, try refreshing the page.

Delegates will have a Pending or delegate status badge next to their name in the Address Book. If you don't see that badge, they may have been saved as a regular contact rather than a delegate.

Common Questions

"Will my delegate be notified if I edit their information?"

No — editing contact details in your Address Book is a private action on your end. Your delegate won't receive any notification about the update.

"Can I change a delegate back to a regular contact?"

Yes. If you'd like to remove someone's delegate role, you can do so from their contact row in the Address Book. See "How to Remove a Delegate" for step-by-step guidance.

"What if I need to update a delegate's email address but they haven't accepted their invitation yet?"

If their status is still Pending, it's worth updating their email before they respond, especially if the original address had a typo or is no longer active. Updating the email here will reflect the corrected address going forward. If you're unsure whether the invitation was delivered, reaching out to your delegate directly to confirm they received it can be a helpful step.
