Before You Begin
Make sure you're logged into your Paige account and have already uploaded at least one document. If you haven't added any documents yet, take a look at "How to Upload a Document"
How to Edit a Document
Editing a document in Paige means replacing or updating details associated with the file you've stored — for example, swapping in a more recent version of a policy or correcting a mislabeled upload.
Note that it doesn’t let you modify the contents of said document.
- From the left navigation, go to Documents.
- Choose the tab that works best for you — By Category or All Files — to find the document you'd like to update.
- Locate the document and click the pencil (edit) icon to the right of the file name.
- Make your changes — this may include replacing the file, updating the document name, or adjusting any associated details.
- When you're done, click Save to apply your updates.
Once saved, a green confirmation banner will appear letting you know your changes were saved successfully.
How to Delete a Document
If you've uploaded something by mistake, or a document is no longer relevant, you can remove it from your account.
Deleting a document is permanent. Once removed, it cannot be undone, so it's a good practice to double-check before confirming the deletion. If you're unsure, consider keeping the file. Storage space is not a concern.
- From the left navigation, go to Documents.
- Find the document you'd like to remove using the By Category or All Files tab.
- Click the trash (delete) icon to the right of the file name.
- A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to verify the deletion. Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to go back.
A Note on Automatically Generated Documents
Some documents in Paige are created automatically when you complete certain features — for example, finishing the Will Builder will place a copy of your will in Finance & Tax > Last Will and Testament.
If you'd like to update a document that was generated by a Paige tool (like your will), it's worth thinking about whether you'd also like to update the information in the source tool itself — not just the stored file. For example, updating your will through the Will Builder will generate a new document, which you can then manage from your Documents section.
Common Questions
"What happens to a document I've shared with a delegate if I delete it?"
If you've shared a document with a delegate and then delete it, that document will no longer be accessible to them. It's a good idea to let your delegate know if you've made significant changes to your shared files.
"Can I undo a deletion?"
At this time, deletions are permanent and cannot be undone. If you accidentally delete a file, you'll need to re-upload it. This is why we suggest taking a moment to confirm before deleting anything important.
"Can I rename a document without replacing the file?"
Yes — clicking the edit icon gives you the option to update the document's name and details without needing to upload a new file.
